An iconic independent record label, Aksara Records steps forward after its long hiatus with a neat release by Ardhito Pramono, “Wijayakusuma”. Both news are endearingly spreading a new spark which follows the major comeback of Aksara Records after 13 years of long-pause.
“Wijayakusuma” single is a team-work project which knits over a trio-collaboration of Gusti Irawan, Narapati “Oomleo” Awangga and Ardhito himself. The bell rang after Hanindito Sidharta, co-founder of Aksara Records, found amusement after hearing this 50’s eclectic pop composed by Ardhito. As we listen to this single, it’s trapped into a classic Indonesian orchestra which is filled by a gamelan composition by Peni Candra Rini.
Back and forth, Aksara Records will remain at its own ground providing a collectable space for any kind of unsung and emerging music.
