A Sheffield-based quartet unit, Arctic Monkeys, finally released their newest album, The Car, on Friday, October 21, 2022.
Unlike the previous album, which had a post-punk/garage-rock hue, The Car is intended to be an extension of the slow-burning psych-pop atmosphere of Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (2018), but without the rock frills that characterized the previous album. This album has a more developed musical vibe, with symphonic, classical, and, of course, Alex’s incredible vocal presence throughout the song.
Other alterations occur in the lyrics part, which no longer sings science fiction lyrics. “On that note, science fiction was over. We’ve returned to Earth “According to the Big Issue, frontman Alex Turner remarked.
