Indonesian artist/illustrator Kendra Ahimsa (also known as Ardneks) has collaborated with the french disco outfit L’Impératrice on an exclusive release for this year’s record store day. Ardneks, whose idiosyncratic art style is usually defined as colorful-psychedelic, contributed on an artwork for the vinyl reissue of L’Impératrice’s past single “Vanille Fraise,” out on microqlima.
The news was announced by the band during their Coachella set last week, and on an Instagram post which is translated as follows: “We take advantage of our last concert in California to announce that Vanille Fraise is released for the first time on vinyl for record store day 2022. Please note, this is a limited edition, available on the record store day 2022 website and at all good record stores.”
This is not the first time Kendra has collaborated with international musical artists. Ardneks had previously collaborated with Moon Duo, Khruangbin, and Warpaint, to name a few.
Only 800 copies of the vinyl are printed worldwide.
