An overlooked historical release, Barriers x Converse places another monumental and sentimental drop paying homage for Black History. Coming with a thick-deep issue, Converse withdrew its initial inspiration from The North Star—19th Newspaper—created and authored by Frederick Douglas. Slavery and injustice is a main colour of this collection as Converse puts on its infamous silhouette of Chuck 70’s and Pro Leather Hi Models. 

Barriers on the other hand, is in charge of placing some vibrants features and outlook which demonstrates and portrays cultural value from Black Community. As it holds a deeper meaning, Barriers highlights some phrases stitched in both of these shoes which mentions “TRUE POWER COMES FROM WITHIN” and “ELEVATE HISTORY. EMPOWER THE FUTURE”.
