In spite of being in the early months of 2022, Dr. Martens has already begun developing its collaborations division. Thus far, the British footwear brand has announced collaborations with FUTURA LABORATORIES, Yohji Yamamoto, and PLEASURES, and now it will work with fellow UK brand A-COLD-WALL*. Bringing together their signature styles, the two parties have created two silhouettes: the Rikard 8-eye boot and the Rikard 3-eye shoe.
In this project, Samuel Ross reinterprets the Rikard model with simple-yet-effective design details. In both styles, black leather and a black rubber sole are used. The former features reflective side panels and A-COLD-WALL* branding embellished with various slits that give off a bar code-like appearance. A ghillie lacing system is carried over from the duoβs previous collaborations, while the black and yellow AirWair heel tab is adorned with the yellow welt stitch of Dr. Martens.
For those that are interested in buying these refined boots, you can find them releasing via the A-COLD-WALL* web store on March 3 and on March 5 via Dr. Martens. Retail is set at $290 USD for the 8-eye and $260 for the 3-eye.
