Bali based tattoo studio Dué Hatué will have their first-ever pop up and exhibition outside the island of gods, this special occasion will be held in Jakarta at the Kala Karya Gallery from 6-10 February and then continue to Bandung, at Rumah Gautama on 14-18 February.
This special pop up engage several names to participate. Each of the artists has been known for their distinctive style which has been the character of the studio itself. The tattoo artists from Dué Hatué are the twin brothers Shiddiq Machmud and Fuad Machmud; known for their modern-contemporary tribal style that combines elements of traditional Indonesian heritage and modern art, then there’s Rizal Herrera with his neo-traditional blackwork style, Lucky Louis with her focuses on elegant and fine line ornaments inspired by various cultures around the world, and lastly, Kuro Neko with a style that combines several elements of Japanese tradition with pop culture references with a personal touch influenced by his street art background.
500 Flashes tattoo also provided in this event each of the artists will provide five slots per day in each city with a booking & appointment-only system via their website. this event not merely shows us tattoo but as you know there will be exhibition featuring their other works in various mediums, showcasing the artisan merchandise by Shiddiq and Fuad, jewelry, furniture, and their own studio merchandise. To make it more appealing, they will also decorate each pop-up venue with layouts similar to their studio in Bali to present their unique energy and experience.
