The famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is celebrating the Hong Kong M+ Museum’s first anniversary titled ‘Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to now’. Yayoi Kusama is famous for her polka-dotted works and represents her work in a contemporary, pop and minimalist style. She uses various mediums for her works, painting, sculpture, performance art, and installation in many styles.
The exhibition features more than 200 works of various art forms across six themes: Infinity, Accumulation, Radical Connectivity, Biocosmic, Death, and Force of Life. This celebration takes visitors into Yayoi’s career through her works, from her earliest drawing to some of her more contemporary and immersive art pieces from the past decades. There are also three of her new works showcased in the exhibition, and visitors are more able to understand Yayoi’s philosophy, “create art for all mankind.”
Tickets for Yayoi Kusama: 1945 are available at Mplus and are now open for the public until May 14, 2023.
