Being a flexible worker and having multiple jobs sometimes and mostly all the time can be very confusing. The thing is, we need to travel from one place to another, not just our body but also our mind. Though it may seem impossible, we do have some little trick to cope with this fast world. So here it is how you do all your work without splitting yourself into pieces..
Willingness to Spare More TimeΒ
This is the hardest step of all to do. Youβve had to have the will to think about what you are going to do for the next week. If you can make sure what and where your work is, itβll be very very helpful. The best time to do this step is on Sunday night before you go to sleep.
To-do List
After you make sure what you are going to do for the next week, you better write it down on a piece of paper, or maybe you can make it your phone wallpaper so you wonβt forget.
Specify Your Lists
When you are done writing down your work schedule, you are going to have to break it down again into what your specific work is. Whether you write down two pages of an MoU or you do a monthly recap sale for your dimsum shop, you have to write it down specifically because itβll be very helpful for your next step.
Time Consumption
As I said in the previous step, write down what your scope of work is. Visualize it and now you can predict how long it takes to get it done.
Consider Your Travel Time
If you have to do your work in several places in one day, you should know how long it takes for you to go from one place to another. Using Google maps for instance, itβll help you a lot to predict the travel time, so you can lower the chance of getting late for your next appointment.
Be Prepared for An Adjustment (Be Adaptable)
After you collect all the data (step 2-5) you should remember it or better yet write it down on your phone. Now we have a schedule for a week, but you have to review it first so you can make sure the schedule makes sense for you to do it.
The last thing is you should be more adaptive because youβll never know what is going to happen for the next week.
