Against the odd, Abraham Damar and team swiped down Philippines and earned the medal gold for the very first time in SEA Games Vietnam. Our Timnas Basketball got ahead of 85-81 for the final score at Thanh Try Gymnasium (22/5/22). Under the strong-hold arm of Milos Pejic (coach), Timnas Basketball was unbeatable in group elimination until reaching the final.Β
Stepping in the game with a deeply-skilled rosters, our Timnas Basketball really knows how to bounce the ball. A balanced young-experienced made a consistent gameplay on each game. Some young-talented name such as Derrick Michael, Dame Diagne and Yudha Saputra was stepping up the game of a pragmatic-european play composed by Milos Pejic. The highlight was dropped right above Derrick Michael. He really made a different with his big contribution for both defense and offensive.Β
For some reasons Lester Prosper was replaced with Marques Bolden which was quickly escalating the gameplay of Timnas as a point-maker. Plus the deep front-court shooter created some spaces for a post-play for Bolden. Nonetheless, Arki Wisnu charmed his leadership over this young-gunner. On the other side, Gilas Pilipinas carried their old weapon with a list of their local stars such as, June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar and Matthew Wright.
And once for all, 13 championship strikes have to be stopped. What a moment to remember. Again, big claps for our hero out there!!
