It is very rare that we can find typical East Javanese food, a traditional dish combines rice with peanut sauce and various vegetables has been around for a long time. One of most common dish to eat for breakfast in East Java. This Dish N’ Dash edition we had the opportunity to taste this favorite East Java dish by Pecel Saestu.
Delectable Nasi Pecel Saestu employs lightly blanched green vegetables served with crispy peyek crackers, chicken satay, quail eggs, beef lung and various variants that are rarely found in traditional pecel stalls such as Katsu, Nuggets, Egg Rolls, etc.Β
A brief history of pecel in Bandung, pecel in Bandung is synonymous with pecel lele and chicken served with sambals that originally from Lamongan, East Java. Even though there are other types of pecel from East Java, which is no less interesting is vegetable pecel with peanut sauce which has different characteristics from each city, such as turi flower for Madiun pecel, tempe bacem for Kediri pecel, fried noodles for Surabaya pecel, and many more.
