In this Place To Go edition, we stopped at a warm and lovely place that happened to be close to our office, in the middle between UPN & UBAYA. Moogs Coffee, with its all-out vintage ornament, this place is suitable for those of you who like serenity, date with your loved ones, do your campus coursework, or just hang out with colleagues.
Located at Rungkut Harapan Utara B15, Surabaya. Moogs Coffee offers an industrial-vintage themed building with the ornament of band instruments to enhance its concept. When we first arrived, we noticed a magnificent cymbal-accented chandelier hanging from the ceiling, which was strikingly majestic and seemed thick to the vintage terms of the building.
Unlike other mediocre coffee corners, this place is just as casual as its gets; the interior is pretty vast and classic, with lots of wood accents and some artworks that seem to embrace this location as humble, warm, and extremely pleasant. The ergonomic yet comfortable couch is good enough to make those doing campus tasks feel at ease, let alone those simply hanging around. On the second level, there are other collections of musical instruments from Moogs Coffee on showcases, such as guitars, amplifiers, and various effects that genuinely express the atmosphere.

The outdoor area is no less pleasing, considering the temperature and weather in Surabaya being relatively unfavorable throughout the day, Moogs Coffee offers a quite shaded outside space with twigs and leaves from trees that grow around. In this outdoor space, sipping a coffee, smoking a few cigarettes, and chatting in the afternoon come so naturally. They also provide restrooms, an ablution area, and a prayer room.
This coming together of musical instruments, industrial and vintage helped bring Moogs Coffee to life, whose approach is to step up its beverages and food to do something new while remaining rooted in its identity. For one, thereβs a plate of sweet-sour salad paired with beef sirloin steak, a picky dish that doesnβt seem to work on paper, but does anyway. Their serving of tortilla skin filled with beef sauteed and homemade corn salsa also became one of the Moogsβ popular dishes.

Beverages offered are also quite diverse, we recommend HISTERIA to try, gotta say the tastes presented are like blowing a balloon at the first sipping with the perfect sweetness, somewhat rosemary fragrant, and berry sweet after taste, extraordinarily distinctive and really worth trying.
Once in a while, there will be a Ladies Night, if you will, so keep an eye on their Instagram. If we’re not mistaken, they have it every Friday.
Another plus for this spot is their hospitality. When we arrived, the waiter greets us kindly. Their service hospitality is truly impressive, so please don’t bother asking for something you want. They are all eager to provide you with the best menu selections and possibly recommend a great deal or bundle.
This place is all about vintage and coziness. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could swing by and enjoy a decent drink of lovely beverages?
