Among the most iconic music festivals in the world, Coachella took place over three days in Los Angeles, California. On the first and second days of the festival, Coachella frames some Indonesian musicians.
They are NIKI, Rich Brian, and Warren Hue. Well begun is half done, Rich Brian and NIKI had the opportunity to perform twice, on a solo stage and as part of 88rising.
NIKI stole the spotlight during her performance on the 88rising stage. She performed the song ‘Sempurna’, by Andra and the Backbone and expressed her longing for her family and Indonesia. This impression made NIKI re-print a new history. ‘Sempurna’ became the first Indonesian song to play at Coachella.
Rich Brian’s performance during his Coachella 2022 set was equally impressive. “If you don’t know my name is Rich Brian and I come from Jakarta, Indonesia”. In his solid set, Rich Brian also had time to present visuals in the form of an image of Monas in the middle of the set to represent his hometown, Jakarta.
