A report published by The Hollywood Reporter reports that an animated series based on the graphic novel ‘Scott Pilgrim’ is in production. The series was developed by Netflix and Universal Cable Productions, the production company behind ‘Chucky’ and ‘The Umbrella Academy’.
In the second adaptation of the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley, the creator behind Scott will write and executive produce the series alongside Ben-David Grabinski.
The anime house Science SARU behind ‘Devilman Crybaby’, an anime series that is a Netflix Original, will be the studio behind the animation show. Edgar Wright, director of the 2010 live-action adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs The World, has also joined the production team as executive producer.
The graphic novel ‘Scott Pilgrim’ had six volumes released from 2004 to 2010. The film adaptation by Edgar Wright became a cult hit several years after the failure of the premiere of ‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World’.
