The Surabaya shoegazers SHRINE released their new EP, Sacred Limbo. It’s out July 7 via Paska Records. Previously, The quartet shared the album’s first single, “Placid Mind”, Listen to the track below.
SHRINE formed in 2021 are Emma (vocals), Dimas (bass), Arya (guitar) & Danis (guitar), this EP marked them as a statement of their emergence in Indonesia music scene. Drawn inspiration from the happenings within the daily lives of people in general, in which they are faced with unique circumstances. Limbo refers to the journey that every living individual experiences that is filled with uncertain conditions.
The band stated: “The musical side of ‘Sacred Limbo’ was inspired by a variety of great artists, including the vocal lines of Airiel, the atmospheric ambience of Slowdive and the dramatic beats of This Will Destroy You. The combination of ambient soundscape and simple melodies is dominant within their wide dynamic musical composition.”
