Going through T.CHAL is Rai’s upcoming single that exemplifies his latest growth as an artist, writer, and producer/beatmaker. Much like the production of his previous releases, Rai uses the structure of accessible trap/hip-hop beats incorporated with touches of experimental music. It signifies his goal of finding the perfect or at least the “just right” balance of mainstream and experimental sound.
Philosophically, the song is about finding your place in between imperfection and perfection, trying to survive when the odds are against you. It was a song written during a low point in which he felt like he was in a toxic social and work environment. Rai treats the song as a release, a necessity to be made for him to move forward as a person and a peace treaty with all his insecurities.
Though the song’s first half is filled with bravado and confidence, you can hear Rai going into a more meditative and vulnerable state after the beat change. The phrase “I wanna go, I wanna let go” signifies his desperation, realizing his darker tendencies and needing change.
“T.CHAL” is an affirmation to those in a toxic cycle. Showcasing that confidence is the most beautiful & scary attribute that you can possess. Rai believes that the song will speak to those feeling misunderstood and stuck.
