Two hundred pairs of the limited-edition Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh sneakers will go on sale through the Sothebys website on January 26.
Sotheby’s reports that the auction will benefit the late designer’s scholarship fund for Black fashion students, “marking the first of a string of related initiatives scheduled to take place this year.”
The sneakers in the online auction are done up in an exclusive colorway, featuring Vuitton’s signature Monogram and Damier patterns, and finished with natural cowhide piping. The sneakers arrive in a monogram-embossed orange leather, with a 3D tag in orange leather with a white swoosh on top.
According to the company, the coveted AF1 will be available in limited quantities and exclusively through the Louis Vuitton store network. The auction is set to run until February 8, with bids starting at USD $2000.
