The world of music is grieving over the loss of Vangelis (EvΓ‘ngelos OdyssΓ©as PapathanassΓou). The master of synth-tuner, Vangelis, died at 79 years old while receiving medical treatment in France. Vangelis is the protagonist figure of electronic sound which brought him into an Oscar-winning class. Remarkably credited for his works in composing soundtracks for Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire, Vangelis earned himself a rack of awards including Oscar : Original Score for Chariots of Fire in 1982.Β
His uplifting piano composition was a treasure for the peak of the synthesizer era at that time. During his twilight years, Vangelis was deeply immersed in solo compositions such as the 2014 Rosetta Mission; a live performance at Stephen Hawkingβs memorial service.
